Our father, Prasad, has always been the pillar
of our family. A man who never asked anything for himself, who worked through every storm quietly, who wore a smile so we wouldn't see his worry. He gave us everything he had — and more than he could afford. But life did not spare him. Without warning, his heart gave way. A massive cardiac episode left him on the operating table, fighting for every breath. The doctors said he needed bypass surgery — immediately. There was no time to think, no time to plan. We only had one choice — save him.
What we have been through
We pulled together every rupee we had. We borrowed from
relatives, broke our savings, pledged whatever we could. We made the surgery happen. Our father survived. And in that hospital corridor, holding each other, we cried with relief. But survival is only the beginning. What nobody tells you is that the bills don't stop when the surgery ends. The medicines, the cardiac check-ups, the follow-up tests, the diet, the care — it is a relentless, expensive, never-ending responsibility. And we are already deep in debt with nothing left to draw from.
Where we stand today
Our father is home now. Weak, recovering, but alive. Every morning he wakes up is a gift we are grateful for. But every morning also brings new expenses we cannot meet — medicines that cannot be skipped, doctor visits that cannot be postponed, tests that cannot wait.We are young. We are working. But our salaries vanish beforethe month ends — between loan repayments, household needs, and our father'smedical bills. We are not giving up. We are just asking — please don't make us do this alone. Our father never asked the world for anything. He just quietly gave — to us, to everyone around him. Today, we are asking on his behalf. Not for sympathy. Not for pity.
Just for a chance — to keep him with us a little longer. 🙏
